PDF or SVG: choose the right template download
Start with where the template is going next. A printable page, an editable drawing and a saved project solve different jobs.

Choose by the next step
| Your next step | Choose | Check before continuing |
|---|---|---|
| Print on A4 or Letter at home | Match paper format; print one PDF page per sheet at 100%. | |
| Edit paths in a vector application | SVG | Confirm the physical document size and imported units. |
| Reopen the same dimensions in FoldParcel | Project JSON | Keep a backup outside browser storage. |
Use PDF for a paper prototype
The PDF places the current template on the paper format selected in the tool. A larger net may need several numbered sheets. Those sheets already contain the planned overlap and registration marks: print each PDF page on one physical sheet rather than tiling the file again in a Poster print mode.
Select Actual size or 100%, disable Fit and Shrink, and measure the printed 100 mm ruler before cutting. If the marks are cropped, change the paper layout or margins and export again. Reducing the print scale changes the dimensions of the box. A digital ruler on a screen cannot verify a physical print.
Use SVG for vector editing
The SVG contains vector paths from the same geometry as the preview. Its document width and height are expressed in millimetres, with a viewBox describing the drawing coordinates. An editing application can still interpret import scale differently; compare the imported physical size with the template size shown in FoldParcel.
Cut, fold, glue and dimension graphics serve different purposes. A dashed fold line is a drawn convention, not a guarantee that a cutter will assign a scoring operation. Inspect the imported paths and set each machine operation deliberately. FoldParcel does not produce device-specific cut instructions or certify a machine setting.
Keep JSON when you need editable settings
PDF and SVG preserve an output, while project JSON keeps the structure, dimensions and page settings needed to reopen the project. Download JSON from Your projects. Store it somewhere you control before clearing browser data or moving to a different device.
Changing paths in an external vector editor does not update the saved FoldParcel parameters. Keep the original JSON and the edited artwork as separate files so you know which measurements can still be regenerated. Invalid or unsupported JSON is rejected rather than silently changing your project.
Before using the final material
Confirm the structure and whether its dimensions describe an inside target, fold-line span or flat panel.
Check the PDF ruler or SVG physical size, then make a paper prototype.
Test fit using the intended stock, especially for a lid or sleeve. Account for scoring, glue and material behaviour.
Save the editable project and the output that produced your successful test.
