Make your first template
Make one measured template, inspect its structure and check a printed trial before using final stock.
Reviewed October 27, 2026
1. Choose the construction
Open Templates and choose one of the eight shapes. Use the assembled illustration to compare the opening and the flat net to see the panel arrangement. Read the dimension-mode note above the fields; different structures do not all take inside length, width and height.
2. Enter meaningful measurements
Select millimetres or inches and enter the complete object or fold-line dimensions requested by that model. The units switch changes the displayed units while retaining the physical size. Material thickness, per-side clearance and flap lengths are separate choices where supported.
If a field is invalid, keep the value visible and correct the highlighted issue. A previous valid preview is labelled as such; it is not a result for the invalid current dimensions.
3. Inspect the preview
Turn the Cut, Fold, Glue and Dimensions layers on or off to understand the net. Use Fit to bring the whole layout into view and zoom for detail. These controls affect the screen view, not the physical size of the SVG or PDF.
Read the assembly sequence and check where each tab attaches. For a two-piece box, inspect both Base and Lid.
4. Save and print a trial
Save a named project if you want to reuse the measurements, and download a JSON backup for a separate copy. Choose PDF, match A4 or Letter and review the page count at 100%. Use tiling if the net does not fit one sheet.
Print each existing PDF page at Actual size, check the 100 mm ruler and then cut, score and assemble. A successful preview does not replace a trial in the actual paper.
