Keep the base fixed
Enter the base's intended inside length and width. Base wall height and lid wall height are crease-to-cut distances, rather than guaranteed clear internal depths. The generator creates two separately named parts so you can inspect and print the base and lid independently.
The material approximation adds one thickness to an inside target to obtain a fold-line span, and two thicknesses to estimate the base outside. This is a simple construction model; a glued, scored corner may behave differently.
Give the lid an explicit opening
For a base inside of 100 × 70 mm, 0.30 mm stock gives an estimated outside of 100.6 × 70.6 mm. Adding 0.50 mm clearance on each side gives a target lid opening of 101.6 × 71.6 mm.
Changing the clearance to 0.80 mm per side enlarges both lid axes by 0.60 mm. It should not change the base's input dimensions. A lid that covers more of the base may also be harder to remove; use the separate lid wall-height control to explore that choice.
Make and test both parts
Score, fold and glue the two trays separately. Allow the corner bonds to settle before trying the lid. Lower it evenly without forcing one edge first. Check the printed ruler and material input before increasing clearance to solve a tight fit. Keep the last successful project as a separate saved version.
